Jinx

Everyone answers the same question. Match the room, or be the only one.

What is Jinx?

Jinx is a quick game of reading the room. Everyone gets the same question, like "Name a Nigerian soup", and writes one answer on their phone where nobody else can see it. Then every answer goes up at once. In a Crowd round you score by writing what most of the room wrote. In a Solo round you score by writing what nobody else did. A typo still counts with its answer, and the host rules on unusual answers before the reveal.

How a night runs

  1. Know the round

Each round shows its type before the question. A Crowd round pays you for matching the room. A Solo round pays you for being the only one.

  2. Write one answer

The question lands on every phone. Write your answer before the clock runs out. You can change it until time is up.

  3. The reveal

The big screen shows every answer, then who wrote it, then the points. The biggest group scores most in a Crowd round, and the lone answers score most in a Solo round.

  4. Read the room

Points add up round by round. At the end, The Daily Jinx names who read the room best.
